Functional Medicine, Registered Nutritional Therapist for Swindon, Newbury, Gloucester & Oxford

My name is Helen Auburn and I am a full time, Functional Medicine trained, Registered Nutritional Therapist & Nutritionist.

Welcome to hnt!

I am CNHC Registered & based in Swindon, seeing clients from here and Marlborough, Malmesbury, Newbury, Gloucester, Oxford, Chippenham and surrounding areas. I was born in London & lived in West Hampstead for three years, until I moved with my family to Swindon. I trained for three years [degree equivalent] at the prestigious Institute for Optimum Nutrition [ION] in London. Five of my family members have PhD’s [three from Oxford] & three work in the field of medicine.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Providing Nutritional Therapy during the pandemic

Due to the COVID-19 [Coronavirus] there’s a greater need for delivering online consultations: Skype, FaceTime & Whatsapp, so we can still see each other. Recently, many are choosing WhatsApp & Skype. I’ve been delivering online consultations for several years, for clients who live outside of Swindon, abroad, or are just too poorly to travel. It works just as well, as in house, face to face.

I’ve been recommended by GP’s, a consultant & staff, at Great Western Hospital [GWH], as well as personal trainers, an optician & beauty therapists.

I’m in The Midult & feature at number six - Bowel Hero, in the Directories section. www.themidult.com The Midult was founded in 2016 by two top, female journalists, Annabel Rivkin & Emilie McMeekan. I was personally invited to be in their directory (no cost to me), as I’ve treated someone whom is known to them.

I really enjoy my work, as a full time, family practitioner & nutritional health coach. I work with men, women & children with debilitating symptoms, who want to improve their health, boost their energy, determine & reduce allergies, and learn to enjoy living life to the full. I use nutrition and health coaching to help you become the healthiest and fittest you can be!

"Helen Auburn is very knowledgeable and approachable. Her sports nutrition pack was the perfect fit for Oriol and Helen went the extra mile to ensure Oriol was comfortable with the plan and his preferences were always respected. Helen's expert advice has allowed Oriol to focus on his Judo training whilst feeling full of energy and positivity. Thank you Helen for being part of Oriol's journey to become British Minor Judo Champion, English Minor Judo Champion and Western Area Minor Judo Champion."

“Working with Helen to look at how I could change my eating in order to feel better has been life-changing. She is incredibly supportive and her advice is extremely well-informed and up to date.”

Dr. Sharon Harvey, Chippenham

“I contacted Helen Auburn to improve my diet, general health, and advance my performance at elite cycling. I would recommend her to anyone seeking a highly professional and friendly nutritional therapist.”

James Wilson, Newbury

“When I asked Helen for nutritional help for very high cholesterol of 8.8, I had been told by my GP that I should be prescribed statins. My cholesterol level has fallen in just 3 months. I have increased energy levels, reduced sugar cravings and I no longer suffer from migraines!”

Simon, Swindon

“After completing the protocol (PCOS), I managed to fall pregnant. I gave birth to a healthy, happy, full term baby girl. I have to say it was a very easy and smooth labour and birth. Probably the easiest and nicest birth I've ever had. I think that's testament to the nutritional advice given by Helen.”

Charlotte Hitchen RGN, Chippenham

The Benefits of Functional Medicine, Nutritional Therapy

Our bodies run on the food we eat: it’s our fuel. Making sure our food is right for us, of the best quality and prepared in the right way can have a big effect on how we function in our daily lives, at work, or emotionally in family, or personal situations. Functional Medicine, nutritional therapy, can help find the right balance in the way we approach our lives, ensuring we work to our optimum potential, throughout the day.

Functional Medicine, nutritional therapy advice, helps you to understand and make changes to the kinds of foods you eat and determine food allergies, nutritional deficiencies & toxicity, therefore helping with many health conditions that have been medically diagnosed.

"I contacted Helen as the medication for my Crohn's stopped working and I wanted to try something different. I did some research online but it was difficult to know what would work for me. After a few tests, Helen gave me a list of foods and supplements that would help the symptoms of my Crohn's. Within a couple of weeks I was feeling so much better, the best I have felt since before my diagnosis in 2016, and I’m still feeling great almost a year on.

This has also helped me get back into football, which I haven’t been able to do for prolonged periods of time. I would highly recommend Helen to anyone!”

I am very knowledgeable, regarding sports nutrition, so I keep up to date, by attending top sports nutrition seminars.

Nutritional Therapist in Swindon

Based in Swindon and with more than 20 years of experience in nutrition, helping people with a range of health issues, I see clients at a private premise in Old Town, Swindon, easily accessible from surrounding areas, including Royal Wootton Bassett, Marlborough, Malmesbury, Newbury, Cirencester, Chippenham, Gloucester and Oxford.

“Having taken on board what Helen advised, I put it into practice. As a result, over the following year I lost 42kg! Furthermore, I hope that I may have overcome the diabetes, my drug dosage has been reduced by half already, and the next time I visit the doctor, probably in a month or so, I hope I will be able to come off the drugs completely. This achievement has been accomplished in no small part as a direct result of Helen's advice.”

Nicholas, Marlborough
